Edit your profile

This tutorial will show you how to edit your profile in your paypal account. You can edit your account information... or your financial information... or selling preferences. In this tutorial, we will edit the phone number.

Let's add a new telephone number to the account. Let's go back to see the results. As you can see, the new telephone number has been added. Let's make it the primary Work number. As you can see, it is now the primary telephone number for Work. You are now able to edit your profile in your paypal account.

Add Credit Card

This tutorial will show you how to add your credit card to your paypal account.

You will then be able to use your credit card as an alternate source of funds when sending money via paypal in the event your paypal account balance does not cover your payment. You can click here to add your credit card... or you can do it via your account profile.

Enter your credit card details. Make sure you enter a correct value for the Card Verification number. It is the last 3 numbers on the back of your credit card (except for American Express where it is the last 4 numbers on the front of the card).

Specify a billing address. This should exactly match the address on your credit card statement since many credit card companies use an Address Verification System. You can use the address you entered when signing up for your paypal account... or you can enter a different address.

Click to add the card. This process will take a few seconds as it actually requests a confirmation of the details from your credit card company.

You are now able to add a credit card to your paypal account.

Verifying your new Paypal account

This tutorial will show you how to verify your new paypal account. This involves adding a bank account to your paypal account.

Enter all your bank details and click to submit the request. You will find the routing and account information at the bottom of your checks.

paypal will make 2 small deposits to your account. You should see them within a few days. Enter those amounts here in your paypal account to complete the verification process. Click Continue to initiate the verification process.

Remember to keep an eye out for the 2 small deposits in your bank account. You are now able to verify your paypal account.

sign up for a new Paypal account

This tutorial will show you how to sign up for a new paypal account.

Select the type of account you would like to have. Note that you can always upgrade your account once you have registered.

Select the country where you live.

Enter your personal information. Your name and address should match your records for your credit card and bank account.

Enter a valid email address. You will use this address as your paypal account login.

Now create a password. Make it a minimum of 8 alpha-numeric characters (no spaces or special characters). Remember that your password is case sensitive.

Create and answer 2 security questions. These will be used as verification of your identity in the event you lose your password.

Click to confirm that you have read and agreed to paypal's User Agreement and Privacy Policy.

Enter the code you see here. This is a security measure that helps prevent automated account registrations.

You have initiated the registration process. Now check your email to see the confirmation email sent to you by paypal. This is the email you will receive.

You will now need to activate your account. You can do it one of two ways. You can click this link in the email... or you can login to your paypal account and activate it from there. Click to manually confirm the email you received. You will need to enter the confirmation number in your email. Simply copy this number to your clipboard... and paste it here. As you can see, the email has been successfully confirmed. Click Continue to go back to your paypal account.

Note: You are allowed a maximum of one Personal account and one Business/Premier account.
